QTP records by objects, not by tables. Of course it can record tables, but it is not mandatory. So, you can record any text by adding the necessary object, for example the exact page.

Probably you are not using correctly the .net add-in because you can not see the .net objects. Try to select the add-in in the script settings, or adjust the Object Identification in Tools menu.
