Be careful with memory - it may not be proprietary, but the number of refurbished CPMG cards I've seen that don't boot because of non-Avaya memory is pretty staggering.
Your right - my apologies. You do have to install 2.5.0.0.177 first. I believe I followed the same steps though - changed the ADS_Response.properties file to accept license and then ran it in unattended mode.
I skipped the Java upgrade when I installed ADS 2.0 and was able to upgrade to 2.5 SP3 without it as well.
Are you using the most recent 2.5 SP3 file? There was an issue with the previous one related to the install/upgrade. The one I used was ADS-ServicePack-2.5.3.0-254.tar.gz.

You need to run SMnetSetup first, then INSTALL the software - it's not an upgrade.
