Can anybody give me some advice on what kind of wireless adapter to buy if I want to pick up a signal from over 300 feet away. I can sometimes pick it up with my Laptop's built in wireless, but goes in and out. Just wondering if there is a adapter out there with greater range?
Problem was #1 and #3. Could ping from computer 1 to computer 2, but couldn't ping from computer 2 to computer 1. Found out that computer #1 had Norton Internet Security installed that was blocking everything. Your info was very helpful, Thanks!
I had 2 computers networked through a Linksys Wireless router and everything was working fine. One of my computers crashed and I had to buy a new one. Now I can't seam to get the two to see each other on the network. When I go into my router interface, they are both there as clients. Can...
I'm trying to restore some files from a backup tape but I keep getting the same error. "The library is unable to load media at this time because the drive is in use". What does that mean?
We have a small network at work using a Linksys wireless router. I can file share with the PC's that are wired to it, but I can't seam to file share with a laptop using wireless. When I type in the address of the folder I want to access it says that i can't find it. Any suggestions?

I think that was my problem but it did not solve my issue. I still get the error message. The only thing I can think of is that I have the Active Directory Forest wrong. The problem with that is that it won't let me enter anything there. It just says automatic.
I'm trying to set up a Mac with OS X on a network with Server 2003. I got as far as clicking on the bind button but I get this error message: An invalid Domain and Forest combination was specified. You should enter a fully qualified DNS name for the domain and forest (e.g., ads.company.com)...
I tried to do what the article said, but I keep getting this error - An invalid Domain and Forest combination was specified. You should enter a fully qualified DNS name for the domain and forest (e.g., ads.company.com). The problem is that the Mac computer won't let me enter a AD Forest. In...

I have an external hard drive that I use on my PC at work. Is it compatible with a Mac? My Mac recognizes it but I can't transfer anything to it or from it.
I had to edit a user the other day on the server. Since then she can't connect to the network or get into the shared files folder. I think I need to change the name of her workstation. Am I right? If so what steps do I need to take to get her to be able to connect. Before I made the changes...
