I have been told that I HAVE TO reboot my storage node, for the patches that MS has released. Not an issue.
Problem: The storage node is writing, and has been for about a week. What would be the best way to move the backups off that storage node (they're hot database backups so failing is not...
I am pretty sure they did recover the bootstrap since the devices are all listed, and all the clients are there, just no indexes. At least not any from the client they want a restore off of.
Had another crash (i love obsolete hardware) and finally got the server up and running again but my indexes are lost and (of course) i have a director needing a restore.
I can't remember at the moment how to read in the tapes in the library to force the server to rebuild the indexes.
I think I...
communication occurs both ways. RPCINFO -p from server to client & from client to server returns

All the documentation I have seen says to "restart the services" I have several clients that just started getting this error a couple days ago, all are windows based, and all have been rebooted. Before I start pointing the finger to the firewall team, is there anything else I can do, try or look...
Due to the recent crash of one of our servers in an "unmanned" location and the incredible amount of effort to get anyone to drive out to rebuild the server, my team has been tasked with the process of backing up bootstrap information to a specific pool on every server we have. We currently are...
I'm seriously thinking about trying to get my certification in networker 7.x and was wondering if anyone had any sort of study guides or test questions that might help me prepare. I know it, but it never hurts to have a clue as to the types of questions that will be asked.
Thanx

When I get that error, it generally means that there is a mismatch between legato's SCSI id of the autochanger and the actual scsi id as seen by the operating system.
inquire or inquire -l will query the OS and report what the scsi address of the autochanger is. then see if it matches in...
It appears that the scsi id of the changer changed. Still not sure why but the legato software saw it at 6.1.1 the operating system saw it at 6.0.0
I tried changing it in the legato software but then I got Input / Output Errors. So in the end (being a windows box) a reboot fixed the issue. Not...
Server starting giving "waiting for media" notices, with the correct media in the autochanger so i thought it needed to be reset and re-inventoried (never know when inventory changes anymore since it's done offsite) so i restarted the services, did and inventory and immediately got the error...
That worked great, I wasn't aware of the find command. Thank you. Now for unexpected results, is there a way to run this against a legato master server for all the clients? (one of my master servers has over 100 clients.)
Recently we've been having some space issues on some of our servers and i've been tasked with finding out ways to report on the number of mp3 files, and the like that we backup. I was able to list out everything backed up with the nsrinfo file but is there a way to filter out or even count the...
