Cyclical Redundancy Check
I'm thinking it has to be a driver issue but it doesn't make sense that it works fine for the old tapes and not the new. Unfortunately there is no way to format the tapes either. Seems once they are ruined they are useless.- rbeachler

We have a DLT backup that I have finally been able to get functioning correctly and speedily except for one slight problem. Any new tapes we use fail consistently. We can use older tapes that we have already used but every new tape we have purchased gives us either a Cyclical Redundancy Check...- rbeachler

Unrecognized Media ??
The media fix for this issue lists that it is ONLY for certain versions of the program. If Veritas does not recommend using the patch for another then I am hesitant to do so. I am having this problem when using new tapes in the backup drive. We have several old tapes that work perfectly fine...- rbeachler
