Brilliant!! This worked exactly as @ClayTaco described. I'm glad I mentioned the files I had. This MIR0023.LOG file was located in a temp folder, so now I know that's where they are purged to in some occasions.
ONE SMALL MENTION: the executable was not grindq.exe but simply grind.exe in the...
Hi POS Gurus -
Aloha 6.1.23 on Windows XP. Yes, I'm aware it's an old version on an unsupported platform but it's what we have.
Here are the details:
In the middle of the day all power was cut to the restaurant. The POS went down after consuming the back up battery supply. When power was...
Hello POS Gurus -
I'm hoping this is an easy one for you.
Aloha 6.1.23 - I know...
Windows XP - I know...
We had someone smash one of the radiant terminals, so we're installing a different term. We give the new term the correct name through Windows, assign it the correct IP octets and subnet...
Hello POS Gurus,
Aloha 6.1.23. I want to configure a promo on Mondays only to remove kid's meals with the purchase of an adult entree. Limit 2 kids meals for every adult entree purchased. Can anyone tell me what the best way to do this is? I'm not sure if it's a BOGO or a coupon or what? Any...
Hello POS Gurus. I'm not really sure what to do about this one since I'm not sure if it has a simple remedy. We recently bought two Radiant POS terminals Model P15XX. Technically one is 1510 and the other 1520. At any rate, the staff is reporting that they lose their calibration very very...
Hello POS Gurus,
OS Windows 2000
Aloha POS TS 5.3.20
Once you're done laughing and get the PCI compliance stuff out of the way, please read on. :-)
Let me try and explain what has happened over the weekend. The terminals went into spooling mode and this was not discovered until Monday morning...
So I checked it out myself and Low and Behold... The ability to edit these WAS available. What they did was turn it off for their User ID called Texas Cash Register (TCR) and so then no one with lower security could edit/ change that. I looked at those two DBF files that you mentioned, Coors...
In one location it's fresh and in the other it was an upgrade. Same result. I know there's an effort to get users to start utilizing command center (another module, another cost, more money) but that's more geared toward concepts with many locations so they can manager their data from a...
So our bar recently updated the Aloha POS software to version 6.7.16. We've had several events that kick off due to football season, happy hour, etc. Now, we don't have the option to go in to Maintenance > Menu > Price Changes. Price Changes has been removed and the the Price Changes function...
Yes, eburks. I contacted the local Aloha reseller and they also said Aloha will not function and is not certified on 64 bit systems. That's why I did what I did. I will say, it was one heck of a learning experience. :-).
Charles/Justadoode
I'm retarded... I figured out why I wasn't seeing from the FOH to the BOH.... *whew*... Glad to finally put this all behind me!!!
Thanks for all of the insight GURUS!!!!
Charles a.k.a. Justadoode
So here's how I finally got it all to work. I went in to Win 7 Pro and
1. I shrunk the hard drive space
2. Created a separate partion (called it XP Partition)
3. Ran a COMPLETE format (because a quick one didn't work)
4. Rebooted the computer and went into the BIOS where I changed the drive...
Thanks POSRESCUE-
I'm going to give your steps a very methodical, slow and deliberate attempt to see if I can get this stupid USB key to be recognized by Aloha. If that doesn't work, then yes I will definitely be interested in being bothered with the details of downgrading to XP Pro. I'm...
I emailed the local reseller and was told that Aloha will not work with a 64 bit version of Windows 7 Professional:
Charles,
There are too many variables at play on this to be able to offer you support via email or phone. We would need to be able to check settings and installation procedures...
The USB key? No, it's plugged directly into the computer. The computer itself, however is plugged into a network hub. (Not trying to be smart, just making sure I don't lie to you)
I downloaded the diag utility, but I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for... *sigh*... this is really frustrating. I even took the old hard drive, I copied the haspnt.sys driver from it's drivers folder into the new one and took the registry key for haspnt.sys and merged it with the new...
Thanks kposnet-
I took an aloha.ini file from a dated subdirectory just a few days old and deleted the old SEC keys instead of just remming them out. I renamed the existing aloha.ini to badaloha.ini and restarted ctlsvr but got the same results. No go. I didn't worry too much about the...
