Thank you for all the suggestions. I belive I have finally resolved this issue. If you're like me and are a saver, the file "sent items.dbx" may have grown too large. Mine was over 2MB. Once I deleted this file, the problem of the OE outbox was resolved. Apparently, the file was not deleted...- actuaryandy

Thank you, but unfortunately, there are no error messages under the "error" tab. I have been able empirically to determine that processing is normal if attachment is less than 500KB and processing error occurs if over 500KB. This suggests there may be a setting somewhere to fix this???- actuaryandy

Have this identical problem though with Windows XP. Finally found outbox.dbx burried deep, renamed it to xxx_outbox.dbx, and restarted oe. Still have problem. I'm not sure but I believe this problem started when I loaded IE 7.0, decided I didn't care for it, and reloaded widows at an earlier...- actuaryandy
