I hope some of you guys have some experience with these awesome (read with MUCH sarc) IBM 4560 Tape Libraries and BE. I have a couple questions:
1. We use SDLT Tapes. Is there a way to configure either the tape library or BE to see the tapes as SDLT by default. They usually just show up as DLT...
Should be able to set up the NAS as a drive on the server (maybe mapped) and then you should be able to create a job that will see the data on the NAS.
Had to rename the BE server to coincide with current naming conventions and now there are 2 servers showing up in BE but the services will not start for either one. Not the real name but the name was changed only by one letter, for instance 5BU1 to ABU1. Now both 5BU1 (the original) and ABU1...
I am relitivly new to BE and I am taking over our org's backup proceedures. I am going to try to be as detailed as possible. First we are currently using 10.d, but we should go to 11d next month due to our liscense is about to expire and we can get it now for free. We currently have 35 offsite...
I am getting an error on some of our servers with the following:
17052 :
This SQL Server has been optimized for 8 concurrent queries. This limit has been exceeded by 4 queries and performance may be adversely affected.
Backup Exec 10d and Windows 2003 server. It seems to temporarily lock up...
I will check it out tomorrow Stevot. Are you a backup administrator for your company? We are using 2003 server, how bout you? You sure have helped me out since joining. I need to read here more, I am learning all this backup stuff and about to pull my hair out. You wouldn't think it was so...
When doing a monthly archive backup, some of our locations have up to a terabyte of information. It will use 3 or 4 tapes. When I look in the job log to find the tape information, it only lists one tape and slot from the library. How can I easily find ALL the tapes it used?
Is there anyone familiar with this combination. I am currently trying to find out how long the library is unlocked when you send an unlock job to the library, before it relocks itself. Also, how can I adjust this time, if possible. Thanks!!!!
Is there anything else I need to backup that you can think of, or will this pretty much let me restore BE if the BE server crashes? Thanks so much stevot.
I want to know what I need to backup in BE (10.d) in case the BE server we have goes down. I don't want to have to recreate the jobs, tape catalogs, histories, etc. We have 2 BE servers, so I can have one backup the other if need be. Servers are Win2k3. Thanks.
