Yes, definitely CBAC and a firewall, likle "ip inspect name..."
I normally use private class b addresses on my lan---192.168 is very common. That's just me. Is this a business you are protecting, or just your home?

onoski, I really wondered the same thing once, and still kind of do, as I am in a different IT role (server hardware support, systems engineer on Dell, DEC, HP, like HP9000, etc servers). You wanna talk about challenging, well the position I have is NOT. It's a very slow business, because it...
Wow, Dan---no wonder you were questioning my knowledge of the CIT stuff! I just read your posts dating from Oct something, and your attempts at the CIT!!! 803/804!!! MAN!!!
Why must one be registered to take the CIT by 11/15? I know the present CIT and BCRAN are going to be expired Dec. 31, and...
Congrats, Dan.
I'm taking the first of 4 Tuesday (BSCI---got 737 first time earlier this week). I just got my CCNA in January, and can't find a job having anything to do with Cisco, really.
Which test did you find to be the hardest? Also, from start to finish, how long did it take you to become...
What Cisco cert and testing forum? Actually, I took the BSCI 3 days ago and got a 737 (need 779). I am retaking it next Tuesday. I got hammered on IS-IS and BGP questions. Anyway, I appreciate it. Please send me the link to the site to which you are referring...

Looks too close to me to fit---maybe the other 468Kb you would have left needs to be reserved or used for something else, and that space isn't enough? Looks like you need a bigger flash---no matter how wrong the documentation is or how much you argue, you'll still be in the same boat until you...
Is this config an add-on to what was previously working? If so, perhaps the other configurer did not wr mem/copy run start...
if not, you could power cycle the router...
Beside that, I am still studying for my CCNP. I only know BSCI, switching, and CIT. I have yet to get into vpn's.
However...
Uh, the mask for the ethernet on the router is /30, and the one on the pix is /26. Also, line protocol is a layer 2 problem. The fact that they are in different subnets could pose a problem...
And it looks like your router fa0/1 is set for 10Mbps, and the PIX is set for 100Mbps, like kbing is...
What WAN port are you talking about? What all interfaces do you have? You can connect the router straight to the internet without the modem, or you can connect it to the cable modem and let the modem do all the NATting and such. Whatever interface you have facing the cable modem, you can do...
firewall? You should Google some setups, because firewall statements usually begin with
ip inspect-name real-audio
and such.

Sorry, viper---I did not see Joe's post where he tried the duplex full command---Joe, viper is correct---you should not do the duplex full command on one interface only---you can have a duplex mismatch---but I guess if you are connected, that is not the case.
