The protocols are different. RS-422 supports multi-drop, meaning more than 1 device can exist on the physical line. RS-232 (9-pin serial) is single drop. They cannot co-exist without converters. Look on eBay to see if you can find the board you need.
I would look into software that ran on more formal equipment like IBM or NCR hardware. I totally agree with shopping the used market. Don't let someone sell you something that was designed for a table restaurant or a night club. I see that all too much!
You should actually have valid entries in the resolv.conf file. Don't just delete it, fix it accordingly; or in the future you'll have undesirable results and wonder where they're originating from.
There are numerous log files that report failed and successful login attempts. I'm not sure were to find them on Solaris, but I'd try /var/log or somewhere around there. More than likely it will be off the /var directory.

Can someone please let me know if WinStation will work on a 3700 3.2 system, please. Also, in regards to using it, what else needs to be done other than installing it and configuring it?
Also, can someone tell me what SarOps stands for, and what exactly it does?
Thanks!

a Fox & Hound pair - lets you trace pre-existing wires so you may not have to string each terminal again
alot of fishing line and a lead fishing weight. you basically throw it as far as you can and then pull the line with the fishing line (drop ceilings)
