My problem happened when using two domains, one NT4 domain and one AD dopmain with two way trusts setup. The DC's in the NT4 domain worked fine and processed the *.ddr records but the AD DC's had a backlog of .ddr files (14,000).
Found out what the problem was, the service "SMS NT Logon...

Migrating users gradually from an NT4 Domain to an AD Domain, users are getting new account name format. I've granted rights to their existing roaming profile folder to the new AD account including ownership.

Looking at the size of your SMS Site I'd say it would be much easier to build a new site on your new hardware.
I've done many over the last year and I've had a new SMS Site Server built and running within 2 hours, the client population can take a number of days.
This is also a good way of...
Does anyone have a test script/plan that they follow for the testing of Service Packs prior to implementing.
I have a rough idea of what needs to be checked on Windows Service Packs & SMS Service packs but it's nice to see what views other people have.

Looking for a few hints here folks..
There doesn't seem to be anything written down anywhere on what approach to take when bringing up an AD enviroment alongside an existing NT4 Domain.
Is it possible to have the SMS Site in the NT Domain to service and manage clients & servers in the AD...
Conan..
Have a look at the Advertisment Status of the package that you created and advertised, look at the status messages for errors and read what it reports back.
This will give you an indication of why your package deployment is failing.
If you need anymore help just ask.

Josh,
What you need to do is create an Administrative installation point for Project 2000 on your SMS Server
Install to your "package directory\Project 2000"

Thanks for your reply, I've found out what the problem is.
The Hardware that has been installed is of a different format (DLT1 not DLT4000) and you can only read taopes written on a different device.

Ignore this problem.. I was lacking mental reasoning when I wrote this.
The Database cleans itself because when you insert a previously used tape, it removes the details for that old tape as it's being rewritten with another tape i.d.
Neil
Upon inserting backup tapes, Arcserve reports that the tape is Write Protected. I've checked and it isn't, the tape media has been used on other devices without errors.
When I insert a brand new tape it accpets it and contnues with a backup.
I've tested the tape device with new tapes o.k., but...
When running Arcserve backup jobs, it formats the tape and then states it's Cleaning the Database.
What does this Cleaning process do ?????
When I look in the Database at previous backup & restore records there is no information shown for them and only the most recent backup has file...
Jim,
Thanks for your input on the matter, I thought that may be the case of re-installing the product again.
I think that may be the best option as it's not configured as I'd like, so it looks like I'm doing some overtime this week.

Help....!!!!!
I've got a Windows 2000 Server(sp2) and experienced problems with slow backups with Arcserve. I managed to uninstall Arcserve & TNG Unicenter, although I had to edit the registry to set the startup state of the services to disabled. This was because the Service control panel was...

When attempting to retore data from a tape backed up with Arcserve 2000 on Windows 2000 Server there appears to be no information shown for the tape.
