SuSE Twofish encryption - Strength ?

However, would it be correct to say that a longer password, irrespective of the actual bit-level would make it inherently more secure. (assuming a brute force attack) or is it simply down to the key length?

SuSE Twofish encryption - Strength ?

Thanks Annihilannic, What I meant to say, more precisely, is does the password length, dictate which bit level is used, i.e. 128, 192, 256. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twofish I can't seem to put my finger on it the answer in relations to SuSEs implementation.

SuSE Twofish encryption - Strength ?

Hi, I'm a relatve newcomer to the everyday use of encryption and I was wondering if there are any suse encryption gurus out there. I'm mounting a couple of partitions through a loop device with twofish encryption and an alphanumeric password of about 26 characters. Can anyone tell me, does...

    Mail stored on server

I'm mighty relieved to hear it's not a live production server. I done quite a few years in the school of hard knocks, and it's a great way to learn. Regarding your <> sender issue, I think it was cured in subsequent releases of exchange. However, if it's not a production server you may well...

Exchange 5.5 accepting mail for non-existant users.

Thanks zbnet, Doesn't the LDAP query mean you have to bring another computer (ie the ADC) into the equation, thereby introducing another possible point of failure? Anyway, thanks for your time. I'll try the procedure outlined above and see how I get on. Cheers

    Mail stored on server

turnjt, You're either pulling my chain, really brave or have a strong masochistic steak. First and foremost : Maybe I'm just windy, but I wouldn't go opening the EDB files, at least not if the server is a live one. The exchange server, I'm guessing, is accessing these files on a regular...

Exchange 5.5 accepting mail for non-existant users.

Thanks, I'm currently looking at http://www.unixwiz.net/techtips/postfix-exchange-users.html Is this the procedure you use?

    Mail stored on server

Although you will have to make allowances for legitimate NDRs, the 'NDRs Total Outbound' of the MSExchangeIMC object in Performance Monitor should give you an indication, I think.

Exchange 5.5 accepting mail for non-existant users.

Thanks zbnet, I have looked at the export, and done a manual walk-through of creating the list from exchange and importing it to postfix, but this other method would appear to offer more flexibility. Although the method you mentioned may well end up being the answer, I was wondering if there...

    Mail stored on server

Hi again turnjt, I saw your other post so I presume your talking about the same exchange 5.5 sp4 server. As far as I'm aware the main files are, exchsrvr/DSADATA/dir.edb exchsrvr/DSADATA/dir.pat exchsrvr/MDBDATA/PRIV.EDB exchsrvr/MDBDATA/PUB.EDB exchsrvr/MDBDATA/PRIV.pat...

    mail relay problems

Hi turnjt, I too am using exchange 5.5 sp4 and have the same problem. I too am of the understanding that exchange 5.5 cannot combat this problem directly. cmeagan686's link confirms what I have been unable to find. I have decided to go for a relay to do this kind of work for me. I have...

    SMTP Sending Problem

dynaken, In the absence of specific examples, you'll understand it's hard to diagnose. However, how did the dnsstuff checks go. The fact that the mail is reaching the inbox / spam folder, i.e. being accepted by the destination server tends to indicate that the problem is not at the lower SMTP...

    SMTP Sending Problem

Hi dynaken Just two things you might want to check. go on to www.dnsstuff.com and check the following 1) reverse DNS lookup Check to ensure the reverse dns entry for your mail servers IP resolves properly to your A and MX records for your mail server. Many mail servers do a reverse lookup to...

Exchange 5.5 accepting mail for non-existant users.

Hi, I have a live exchange 5.5 server. Until now it has been protected only by a firewall. I now wish to use a mail relay with anti-spam/anti-virus protection. I have built a linux/postfix/spamassassin relay for the job. However I have a snag. One of the settings for postfix allows it to...

    NTBackup 4mmdat.sys problem

Smorgan11, I reloaded underlying SCSI adapter driver and loaded your HP specific driver and hey presto. I've successfully completed a DS/IS backup. Thank you very much for all your support, you have no idea how relieved I am. Cheers

    NTBackup 4mmdat.sys problem

vschumpy, over on the arcserve forum graciously pointed me towards this driver, http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=42846&prodNameId=12183&;swEnvOID=24&swLang=8&mode=2&;taskId=135&swItem=co515en I'll give it a go...

    NTBackup 4mmdat.sys problem

Seems strange it worked on server A no problem, but anyway, where can I get a copy of the HP driver. I'd like to try the HP driver, if I could find it. I don't have the accompanying CD for the drive as I rescued it from being thrown out because of a tape jammed inside. I gave it a little TLC...
