As far as the attachment that got embedded that is probably what happened but now almost ALL the emails I get come full of that garbage amd sometimes the list of garbage...

6. PDF advance repair (with wich I was able to recover about half of my invoices)

1. there is not a DriveIcons folder in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Explorer\ (DriveIcons\E\DefaultIcon)
2. I do not understand what is a "reusable routine" and how do you put it to work.

Sorry Satrow.... I didn't explain my self correctly:
removing the "setup.exe" file in the drive's root changes the icon of the drive from the same icon of the "setup.exe" to a generic windows icon, does that make sense....?

Hey Satrow, your sugestion apparently took care of part of the problem: now Norton starts with "Auto-Protect" enabled, thank you !!! but unfortunately the icons are still there.
