Hi,
I'm having much the same problem, except that it's ISA 2006 and I have no other firewall installed.
I've tried following this doc to no avail:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/isa/2006/deployment/exchange2003.mspx
I tried doing it myself and got the ISA/OWA logon page, but when I logged...
She's e-mailing the .jpg file to her husband's work account and he's using his computer at work to upload the photo to the website without any issue.
as I said, bizarre!
Thanks for the reply.
That's what I thought initially, but the same website accepts the same file but from a different computer, which is what I don't get.
It seems that it must be something on that PC.
If we can't figure out something, then I think I'll just have to get them to rename the...
Hi,
I have an unusual problem.
Someone I know is trying to upload photos to a couple websites, but is having trouble doing so. The photos are .jpg but when she tries to upload them, she gets an error saying that they should be in .jpg format! One of the sites is bebo. If I rename the file to...
Got there in the end!
I got the machine booting again but doing a repair, but .Net still wouldn't install.
So a complete re-install it was, and that finally cured it.
A bit extreme to get .Net Framework to install, but hey ho. I suppose I would've been way quicker doing that to start with...
Hi,
I tried removing some windows updates but looks like I've now broken the installation as it's not booting now.
I'll spend some time on it over the weekend, but a re-install is probably the best option.
I'll post next week and advise of the status.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Nothing works. The install for .Net 3 just never ends and the event viewer doesn't give much clues.
When installing 2 it says it installed ok, but it clearly hasn't.
I'm running out of patience with it and can see a format/re-install coming in the not too distant...
Hi,
I'm having major problems trying to get the above to install on an XP box.
The installation just gets as far as "Installing native images" and just hangs there, all night if need be!
I've tried running the .net cleanup tool that I found on the Internet, but to no avail.
Framework 2.0...
Hi,
that's what I'm trying to do but it's not working. Unless I'm doing it in the wrong place?
I'm trying to start the search service from the "Services on server" page, that's all I could see to configure.

Hi,
I've just installed WSS 3 to run on an SQL 2005 server and it's all working ok. The only problem that I'm having is that I can't get the Search service to start. There are no errors in the event log, it just doesn't start.
I've been surfing around the internet to try and resolve the...
Thanks all for the replies.
I'm just gonna live with it for the time being. Things are changing in the company at the moment anyway, so it might not be required in the end.
I'll investigate further if need be.

No, there was nothing obvious in the event log. It wasn't just the inter org messages which were the problem. Incoming internet mail got as far as my original server, but it couldn't find it's way to the new server. It seems that the original server couldn't get mail to the new one, for whatever...
Right,
have discovered something which make no sense to me, but it works.
We have all our mail routed through messagelabs, there was an FQDN for a smarthost at messagelabs. If I remove the smarthost, everything works fine.
Anyone seen this before?
It's OK like this in the short term but I'll...
I can.
I thought that it was maybe an issue with Exchange being installed onto a DC, so I setup a PC as a server and have just installed Exchange onto it but I'm getting exactly the same thing. This time though, I can telnet to the original server from the new pc/server using port 25. Again a...
I'm having a very similar issue.
I have 1 exchange server on 1 subnet and am building a new one on another subnet.
I am in exactly the same place as rsunra whereby a user on the new server can send mail, but not receive. What I'm also seeing is that I can telnet on port 25 from the existing...
I'm trying to edit a WSS 3 site with Frontpage 2003 but get the following error: "This website has been configured to disallow editing with Frontpage"
Anyone seen this and can tell me how to fix it?
Thanks
Rossco
Hi all,
I'm new to Sharepoint and SQL and would like some advice if someone can help me.
I've got WSS 3 installed on a Win 2003 server which also has SQL 2005 standard installed on it. Basically, I'm looking for the best method to back this up.
I've scoured the internet but as yet have not...
I've checked all the entries there and everything is fine.
There is no reason for this not to work, as far as I can see.
The My Documents folder works. It's just when installing applications that I get the error.
Does anyone have the same setup as me and have it working?
i.e Vista installed...
