I didnt read all the posts so you might have it fixed but you could write the file directly from the monk instead of using the eway. That would give you the chance to change the file name on the fly depending on which doc you found.

If you are using java and a jms queue you should look at els event linking and sequencing. I think there might be some options in there to set things loose from the queue based on times.
