After looking at the problem closer, I think I have figured it out. Apparently the problem is related to a registry entry for Microsoft Outlook. For some reason, ReportSmith could not access the secure temporary folder that Outlook XP and 2003 uses to store attachments.

We're having a problem with reports not launching when they are attached to an e-mail in Outlook XP and 2003. ReportSmith will launch when the attachment is clicked on, but the it doesn't open the actual report.
I saw exactly the same issue in thread131-904064 but didn't see a resolution...
