OK, I'm trying to solve some recent echo on our Asterisk phones. We have the system running through an Avaya IP Office 412. So the call flow is such:
Polycom ---> Avaya ---> PRI
The echo is rather recent. And only when dialing out the PRI. I've made some changes yesterday to the zapata.conf...
Under the public folders I dont see one labled Global Address List. I've seen the other option as well, however getting our users to update their own info would be like pulling teeth.
BTW we are using Exchange 2003
I am trying to figure out which permissions I need to grant to get this working. I've got one administrative assistant who needs to be able to open up the Global Address Book in Outlook and modify the Phone/Notes tab and fill in home numbers/cell numbers etc. I thought there was a way I can use...
Well I'm not sure what entry I added/edited yesterday. But it is working. Now, when I renew the DHCP assignment on clientA I am able to ping them by name on a client sitting at another site. Thanks to everyone.
Wow thedaver, I suppose I can say that was helpful. I'll leave it at that though. Now that you have reiterated my problem the reason I posted here was for a solution.
Here is the contents of the dhcpd.conf

And, the nslookup is going to the DNS server to get results. It fails, obviously. The clients are not reporting to the DNS server. Yet they are able to query it when they ping by name. Odd eh.
Yes, a 2k3 box on the other side handles DNS. Clients are gathering that information as part of the DHCP settings the linux box is handing out. The clients can do ping by names. Yet, for some reason they are not letting the 2k3box know where they are. There for from the other side, I cannot ping...
I realize the DHCP has nothing to do with name resolution. The whole network is 2k3 actually. Except for this one segment. The linux box has the proper DNS server set, as well as handing out the DNS information to the clients as part of DHCP. Which is why the client getting it's address from the...
That is correct. Client A which gets it's DHCP from the lunix box can ping anything on either side by IP or hostname. THe linux server can only ping clientA by ip, yet it can ping side b by either name or IP. Clients on side B cannot ping by name side A, only the linux box. So what entry am I...
OK bear with me while I try to explain my problem. I'm somewhat a Linux noob, so this maybe an easy solution for you.
LaptopA is on it's own subnet, it's handed an address by a linux DHCP server. It can ping anything on side A or side B (separate sublent) by name and IP. DHCP server cannot ping...
Where do I specifiy the number of rings until a call is send to voicemail? Right now it's only about 5. But some of our employees do not have voicemail and it only rings 5 times, others do not work at their desk. So I would prefer to have it set to 7 for all asterisk users. Thanks in advance!
We have been getting these alarms on a IP406 and a SOE unit for some time now. Throughout this we have been experiencing strange problems with our system as well. Any ideas as to what this alarm means? Please help!! Thank you in advance.

I have my voicemail forwarded to the users email. However I am trying to figure out what phone number I dial to access the voicemail system. I've gone through the extensions.conf and voicemail.conf but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Sounds silly, I know...but please help me!
We have implemented a group policy setting in our Domain, and I am wanting to modify it slightly. However I am not sure if this is do-able. Right now, all our users domain accounts have "power user" rights on their local machines. They do not have the rights to install new hardware or software...
