one more thing if you have time,
Could you provide the code for determining if it is an excel file as well. I tried it with excel and it just gave me junk. The folder will have a mix of excel and word files and all need to be converted.
thanks for your help
Corry
works great, the only thing is I would like it to run without any user intervention, it currently prompts me to save the PDF document when printed. Can that be added to it to save automatically?
thanks so much

I have a PDF995 Printer installed and usually print the Word doc to the printer which saves as a PDF file.
Can someone provide a script that converts a batch of word docs in a folder to the printer (PDF) files?
I don't see any policies restricting the use of USB or Serial connections. I have to take a deeper look at the local machine perhaps. No software loaded - other than company provided daily use software.
It's kind of thrown me for a loop.
I gave the user full rights to the entire program files folder on the local machine - didn't help. Actually I gave him entire C: rights and still didn't work.
It is xp Pro with sp2. I am going to try re-installing and starting over again.

I have given him local rights as needed, but the GPO is still not...
yes, that is one reason why we use port 587 for Rogers, the higher ups don't want to use OWA for some reason. We also only have one server. So I am stuck with popping.
I ran eseutil and isinteg last night to see if that will help. don't know yet.
We just recently switched ISP's and went to a T1 at the same time. This problem is kind of hard to explain.
I have 3 POP users out of about 40 that cannot send mail thru our exchange virtual servers. (2 users use Bell and 1 uses Rogers)
I have 3 virtual servers setup (port 25, 587, 588) for...
Now I get this when I go to start it
"The Service has returned a server specific error code"
and in the event viewer I get
"The service cannot bind instance 4"
I've restarted most services and still get it.

OK I have changed that to refresh every page, but I still get the original error when clicking resubmit. I don't get the buffer error anymore because I manually cleared out the archive.
