I may have just got it working. I did a 3 sec forward from 10.x.x.1 to .2 and vise versa. That seems to give me full functionality with either DNS server. Does anyone see any issues with this?
Ok, we are a good size school district setting up a new school this year with in an Active Directory Enviroment. We are a Netware Enviroment now. We are running a stand alone DNS server (lets say 10.x.x.1). We had no Domain Controller. This is a new setup.
I setup a DC at our District...
We are a school district with 28 schools connected via 100 MB Metro E. The District Office has a 1Gig link back to the cloud. Each schould would have a Domain Controller with the primary at the District Office. Each school has its own subnet. Would it be necessary to setup sites in this...
Ok, our students are using the host file to get access to the internet. For political reasons they are administrators on the workstation. I need a way of hiding or restricting access to Windows or system32 that will not prevent application access and installs. I don't want them to get to the...
I have 2 IBM 2005-16b fiber channel switches with several GroupWise servers and 2 Windows Backup servers attached. The DS4300 attaches to both, they act as a redundant configuration. I have a tape library connected to the switches as well. We recently added a second tape library and backup...
The owner of the files is IUSR_WWW the internet guest account.
It is an external web server, user have access to it from the inside. I have changed passwords, but have not disabled the admin account. Guest account is disabled? Not really sure what you mean by limit the server to an IP range?
We have recently been having an issue where unauthorized files are being written to wwwroot of our web server on a regular basis. The files are all 0k and are named like “index.html, index.htm and etc. The time stamp on all files are identical. If they were written at 8:17 every one would...
I am running ArcSereve 11.5 SP3 on a Windows 2k3 server. I see the options to use Multiple NIC's. I am running a staging jobs to a SAN and the from the SAN to a tape library. I have streaming enabled. My jobs have multiple servers under each job that are being backed up. My server has 2...
Let me start by saying that I am not a web guy. I am a network guy. I was given the task of making a link off of our main web page secured with SSL. I don’t know where to start. Can someone point me in the right direction. Our site is running on Windows Server 2000 IIS. We don’t want the...
Ok, I have a SCSIHD.CDM under c:\nwserver dated 3/29/06 and one under
c:\nwserver\drivers dated 6/2/06. The one under drivers is the SP6
version according to the file list. What one does the startup.ncf use
during the boot process? I am guessing it is trying to use the SP5
version under...
I just had another server do the exact same thing. Both of these had SP6 on them. Both these servers have been rebooted after the SP6 was installed with no issues. Both servers experianced high CPU utilization (reason we needed to reboot). When we rebooted they cam up with the above problem.
I ended up replacing the SCSIHD.CDM file on the c: drive, when I did this the sercfg.* files all changed to today's day. TID 10094155 says to try deleting these files. So that may have resolved it or the SCSIHD.CDM was corrupt. Issue has been resolved.
IBM had me pull all the hardware logs and they show no problems with hardware, raid controller, drives, ect. The strange thing is it manually boots everything with no issues.
Netware 6.5 SP6
About a week ago we had an issue with the server running at unusually high utilization. We rebooted the server and it hung up on a few errors:
CDM deactivated IBM Raid due to device failure
filesys.nlm could not be located
Device driver deactivated IBM Raid due to device...
All of our users are admins on the local workstations, not by my choice. We use Group Policies to lock down most things. I can't seem to find a way to prevent the computer name from being changed in Group Policies. Any ideas where that is at?
We have a Windows XP Machine with a local printer shared with file and printer sharing. This is no a Novell netowrk. The shared printer has installed to all the computers connected to the network automatically. I have also noticed other printers have done the same thing.
I have to add a local user to all of our workstations that needs to be an administrator on the workstion. I have seen the addusers.exe, but have not been able to track down our resource kit. Does anyone have any other suggestions on doing this?
I have data migration jobs fail every now an then for different reasons. Most of the time you can not select the failed job and run it again because it fails and so does the makeup job. Is there a way to manually migrate that data to tape from the hard drive?
I am running ArcServe 11.5 SP2...
I have a Netware 6.5 sp5 server running ArcServe 11.1 SP2 that I back up to an external 300gig USB hard drive. On the external drive I have mounted it as an NSS volume and created a File System Device. Everything is backing up fine, but I only have one night of backups because that gets...
