IBM 8315-42u
On the IBM web site. I downloaded the papers on that MB for that machine line. It was disabled at the chipset level. So no way to enable it. Well maybe no way, a Bios update may fix it but I just went ahead an bought a ATI Radeon 256 meg pic (9280 I think ) and installed that. Seems to be about...- stindle

8315-42U video problem
Slot I thought was the AGP slot was the AGP slot. I found on the IBM web page for that board in that machine it has a AGP slot but was disabled at the chip level at the factory and then the inserted a plastic plu into the slot. You can remove the plug and the AGP card will fit but won't boot...- stindle

wanted to add a new agp card to a IBM 8315-42U Machine but seems they have disabled the agp slot at the factory? Is there any way to fix this so it can use an agp card or if not a way that a PCI card can work instead? The CMOS gives 2 options Intergrated or PCI. Anyone please Thanks Skip- stindle

ODBC and VPN
It always connects, and will work find for 1 to several hours then I will get a database not found error and the uasal SQL/OBDC errors you get when you have been disconnected from the data base. I then have to exit the app and restart it. It then reconnects and works fine till she blows again... -
