I may have a copy of the software that Rob suggested. Drop your Email address down and I will see if I can look it out.

Hi,
How do you find it? Do you have any praise for the product or do you despise it ?
Any feedback would be useful before I take the plunge and buy into this type of software.

Hi,
I have a Cisco Catalyst 5500 with an RMS fitted. I think this router has some serious bottlenecks but can't see any statistics that prove that I am right (maybe I am not). However I think the bottleneck is the DMA channels that connect it to the backplane of the switch (200mbs full duplex...
You are missing the all important 'EN' making it an Enterprise version. All other 2924's don't support VLAn's.
Here are my command lines anyway:
vlan database
vlan <number> name <name>
This is all it takes. My 2924's however are all part of a VTP domain and set to client mode. But your...
Try this link, I don't think you need a cisco password to get to it:
http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/130/sw_upgrade_proc_ram.shtml#step1-2600
This is a kind of step by step guide to upgrading and flash problems. It might help?
I hope it does the trick.

Tony.
Switching capacity is only half the story. You just need to keep an eye on the layer 3 (routing) side of this monster. If all the users will now be located 'further' from there main services (hop count), then a larger portion of users will need to be routed to there destination putting a...
As far as I am aware only the Cisco 2924-XL-EN (enterprise) versions of this switch can create Vlans. These are the units that we currently use.
Hope this helps a little anyway.

Tony.

I am trying to convince my bosses not to install the Win 2k VINES client when we roll out Windows 2000 as they only wish to include it to assist in user migration of data. If anyone has any experiences with this client, good or bad can you reply explaining your issues.
Thanks, Tony.
