We have an NT 4 system that has recently begun having a network connectivity issue. Someone tripped over the network cable, the computer shut down instantly, and now it keeps giving and Event ID 7000: "The 3Com 3C90x Adapter BC Driver service failed to start due to the following error: A device...
Our office uses a SonicWall Pro230 firewall. I have rules set to block a certain IP range from internet access, 192.168.1.15 - 192.168.1.20. One of those addresses, 192.168.1.16, needs to have internet access during non-working hours. So, I set 2 more rules: one allows access to that address...
Something I forgot...
If I use a network scanner, like Languard or Look@Lan, ALL of the machines on the network INCLUDING the Win98 machines show up with both IP address AND hostname. ??
I am having a weird problem. We have a network with about 40 Win 2000 machines, 5 Win XP machines, and 5 Win 98 machines. There is a Win 2000 Server domain controller which handles DHCP and DNS. About 2 weeks ago, I stopped being able to see any other machines from the Network Neighborhood...
Thanks for the suggestion. I figured it out. I have a network segment that is behind a separate firewall, but is still requesting an IP address from our primary server. Since it is firewalled, the name is not showing up.
This is weird. I hope someone has some insight. I am running a network with Windows 2000 Server. DHCP is assigning addresses in the range 192.168.1.21 - 192.168.1.70. My firewall keeps blocking and logging attempts to connect to certain addresses in my network. The attempts always come from...
I'm stumped with this one. I have code that is supposed to create a number of charts in an Excel workbook. It loops through from 1 to some number. It adds each chart and then applies formatting in a With block. The weird thing is that all of the charts look fine when it is done except for the...
I have distributed an application which uses the FileSystemObject to write an html file to the user's hard drive. When I log in to any of the machines with an administrator account, the program works fine and the html file is created. When normal user accounts log on, the program works fine on...
Actually, I guess it doesn't necessarily go to the top and back down, but it clears the control and repaints it. I need it to either update without repainting the entire thing or repaint much faster so it is less noticeable. If the webbrowser control can't do it, is there something else that can?
I would like to refresh the webbrowser control without having it jump to the top of the page and then back down to where it was before. I want it to update the contents without moving the view around at all. Is this possible?
First of all, let me say I am new to networking.
I have a very simple ethernet setup: 1 Win 2000 server, several nodes. There is one thing different though... I couldn't get any modem to work in my server (still don't know why) so I set up a separate computer for the internet connection. It is...
