    Setting up an ftp account

Is there a physical firewall device between you and the ftp server? If so, make sure both ports 20 and 21 are opened up. Also, can you ftp into the server from that SAM server itself? You should be able to... If not, the problem reside within the ftp config on the box itself. Let us know...

Non-domain admin OWA users can't add/edit Calendar events

I need to figure out how to give Calendar access Permissions, as you can see the Calendar thru OWA, just can't add or edit any events thru OWA... GVN

Non-domain admin OWA users can't view their Contacts

OK, figured it out... It was a Permissions setting under "Exchange System Manager", then Recipients > All Address Lists > All Contacts. I gave everyone 'Read' access and now OWA works like a charm. Now I need to figure out how to give Calendar access Permissions, as Calendar is doing the same...

Non-domain admin OWA users can't view their Contacts

Non-domain admin OWA users can't view their Contacts. They can go into the Contacts area, but it is completely empty and they cannot add new ones either. I'm sure its a Permissions thing on the Exchange Server, but where do I change it to give them access? THANKS!!! GVN

VM Ware /Windows 2003 Server issue

CASE SOLVED: This was caused by using the default Microsoft 32-bit network adapter driver that came with Windows 2003 Enterprise Server. I had to go to the NIC manufacturer and specifically download the 64-bit driver (in this case it was Broadcom...) and then install it, then reboot. Once I...

    VPN - 3rd option?

This is a clearer question than the first one: Concerning VPN access, one either has VPN access or they don't, - but is there another option whereby you can give someone VPN access but only grant them data accessibility to one server or application? Management here is very untrusting of their...

    VPN - 3rd option?

kmcferrin- Won't setting up a firewall rule for the VPN traffic affect ALL VPN users? I just want it to affect one specific one... GVN

    VPN - 3rd option?

I agree with your comments about stealing 100%, and have argued that before, but in vain... Will setting up all the "approved" servers in one VLAN solve this issue? How would you tag a VPN connection into that VLAN? We don't use Terminal Server here (so far...), is it expensive?

    VPN - 3rd option?

Concerning VPN access, one either has VPN access or they don't, - but is there another option whereby you can give them VPN access but only allow them access to open server or application? Management here is very untrusting of their employees, even the upper management levels..., and the...

How to get user's login name?

You can always create a logon script that basically echoes that info to a text file, as a last resort, if necessary: echo %USERNAME% has logged onto %COMPUTERNAME% at %DATE%, %TIME%. >> \\MyServer\NETLOGON\TIMESTAMPS.TXT Simple, yet straightforward...

'Automatically detect settings' checkbox keeps getting checked.

The 'Automatically detect settings' checkbox within the IE Internet Options >> Connections >>LAN Settings... keeps getting checked. Any idea where to look to see if this is being set by some local policy on the laptop, or a registry setting somewhere? GVN
