Better login onto the Avaya Sun login console or remotely telnet to the box.
After logging in as root...use the command as below on the # prompt.
passwd root
You will be prompted to enter new password. You can try this for any login name.

When you configure the extension the vu stats format should be configured for agent not the extension.
This will 100% work..

To replace the card of different TN's its always advisable to busy out the card first.
Then remove the TN entry by using the change circuit-packs for that Particular slot.
Definitely you will need to remove configuration and re-configure the card for this purpose...
