I am trying to understand if there is a good way in Oracle at the item level to make substitute/alternate parts available when MRP runs. Hopefully that question makes sense.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.
I probably did not make this clear enough....
The Macola/sql data is internal to our site, the vpn is used to access OTHER data and not related to Macola, they just are running on the same machine and ran fine "side by side" until now for some strange reason.
Thank you!
This is a strange one... We have a user that is experiencing some difficulties using Macola and a vpn connection to an external company that we access customer information through. Macola is a local application at our site and runs fine on every other machine. This has worked flawlessly on this...
Hello,
We currently have a HUGE amount of product structures (bom's) that are no longer used that we would like obsolete, these bom's have sub-assy's and items that report into them and it appears you can only obsolete the top level assy and not the subs, it seems that while trying to obsolete...

Thanks for the reply. I checked the Permissions for "DATA" and it is open to all users in the domain so not sure that is the issue. Maybe this will help? The error report:

Since you have been so helpful to date can someone offer any help with this issue? When trying to do a print to screen we see this error....

Thank you very much the reinstall worked. Although it does seem strange, that these things happen, it is working fine and then one day it goes south on you... oh well.
Thanks again.
No, it is actually at a users desktop... but it also happens on another machine with that login as well as the other users login info...
I should also mention that Crystal is installed on the machines in questions and runs fine as "stand alone".
Thank you.
Yet another issue... when we try to run an embedded crystal report in Macola we get a gui with the following message:
MACCRVWR.EXECUTE 372
I have to kill it with task manager, and no report is generated.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.
Tom,
Thank you very much for the detailed help and instructions.
This is exactly what we need to do, at some point it might be nice for me to add the item descripiton field from Progression. I copy/pasted into excel and it worked great, 'Results to File' created a report that would not open in...
Thank you very much for the replies! Is there any way you can walk me through some of this, or maybe point me to a link somewhere with more help on how to "execute" these? I am somewhat savvy but nowhere near where you are with sql etc. but would like to utilize this functionality.
(Background...
Ok, I have asked a similar question but now I have a different need.
We have a list of bom's that contain sub assemblies, when I "print" a bom from the indented bom module it prints great or I can print to a file and it will output to txt in the default Macola directory. Is there a way to...
I was wondering if someone could answer a quick question? We have a user that all of a sudden gets the message "An error occured while getting DSN name"?
Thank you very much.

All reports etc. I actually emailed a guy from Macola and he suggested intializing some files in system mgr and that didn't work either. I am thinking that her installed printer names might be messed up... kind of lost at this point.
Thanks for the help.
