I don't believe it, my customer already has the call navigator and they did not know this was possible. How does it work? When they try and use the transfer voice mail it does not go to the remote system extension mailbox, nothing happens.

Dial in for what? Programming? If so, forget the modem because you will be using the LAN/WAN and a Nortel Administration Application called "Element Manager"

I looked into Dial By Name but given that the customer uses a PC and MS Outlook at every desk, this seemed to be easier for the customer. It also does this cool message on phones somehow. They click on some drop down and select something like "In a Meeting" and then it somehow shows that message...
Do you have any VOIP Trunks enabled? Perhaps you can use VOIP Trunks to rule out or in the BCM hardware by determining if the static appears on calls using VOIP Trunks.

This is probably a glitch. Try going in to Telephony | Global Settings | Feature Settings and change "Answer Keys" to Extended or Enhanced. I seem to remember something about that.
