thanks westi. so you've have good results with SIP on the SOE? I'm seriously considering the SIP route now. I've always just gone with Analog or PRI to avoid unnecessary quality issues. However, these converged services and devices are using VoIP anyway and just varying the hand-off on CP based...
@Westi do you have the part number for the SOE SIP trunk licenses handy. If I recall we'll need one license per simultaneous call even if your SIP provider supports multiple calls per trunk.
Let's for a second say it's your business, not a customers. the SOE has served your needs well, and the office space won't allow growth beyond the 8 PRI channels being provided by the converged service, and the 8DS,4A,16VCM endpoints the SOE can support. The SOE is still under an Avaya...
We need to expand the available trunks on our SOE beyond the 4 analog ones it ships with. We've opted for PRI since we're getting a converged service T1. It is my understanding that the PRI card is the same that runs in the 406, 700185200. Are there any known issues with running PRI in SOE, and...
I have a few questions regarding mixed IPO environments and the 500v2. thanks in advance for reading.
3 existing offices (2xIPOSOE, 1xIP406v2) connected via public line VPN and SCN, 1 new office coming online with a IP500v2. SCN plays best with everyone on the same release, but I don't think...
@vid151 - so you've come across this issue before? in my case no one could call into the conference bridge because it rang busy. this is how we were alerted to the problem.
this is the second time the "T" option is mentioned. can you elaborate on this and how to implement it?
yes i'd imagine if neither party hung up the call would not terminate. that would be unlucky though. I can't upgrade to 5.x or 4.x because this is a 406v1. however, i am not on the latest 3.x.
manager reports 406 v1 running 3.0(69)
yes i know the id of the caller. it's in the avaya logs and the PRI logs. if it is an intentional fraudulent call how does anyone make use of a two simulataneous and continuous open lines from the same number for 7 days?? to me this seems like a glitch that kept the lines open on either end. i'm...
we do not have DID pointed and are pin checking via VMPro.
caller dials 1800 -> Auto Attend Answers -> Conference extension dialed -> Pin is prompted for -> Caller trans to bridge.
Our PRI provider is billing us for two simultaneous calls from the same number to our 1-800 number that appears to have terminated in the conference bridge on the IPOffice. That's over 7 days of continuous call time. Any idea how on earth this is even possible, and if we should be responsible...
thanks again bas. one more question for now. we've never used the wan/firewall/vpn features of our ip offices, as we have either checkpoint or watchgaurd firewalls in place with site to site vpn's. will this be an issue with sip trunking, or will the ip office play nice with our firewalls when...
bas,
i'm in the US. the majority of the calls with be within the US as well, so i'm more interested in reliable nationwide calling than inexpensive international rates. if i could get both that always a plus.
so far it's looking like investing in the 406v2, swapping over cards from 406v1 and...
good to here that kurt. in any event, would it be possible to buy a 406v2 control unit, switch over the PRI 24 T1, ATM4, and VCM5 cards from the 406v1 and have it work with the existing DS30, 2xDS16, POT16 expansion modules. this way everyone can be blissfully happy on 4.0/1.
i'm still hoping...
thanks for the replies, but i really wish people would take the time to read.
bas1234 i am not trying to upgrade the 406v1 to 4.0/1. i am considering doing so on the small office, but my concern was interoperability running the small office on 4.0/1 while the 406v1 is on 3.0 since they are...
hey all,
here is the delimmna. we have three offices interconnected using SCN/H323 between a 406v1 and two small offices. all are running 3.0. one of the small office installation has outgrown the 4 analogue trunks, and i find it hard to pay U$3K for T1/PRI card and associated line expenses. is...
yes it is imbedded VM, so i am assuming i can skip the cf card and pcmcia adapter bit recommended by tlpeter since its already there. however, the only information i've found on internal MOH is when uploaded with the manager via TFTP, which always has to be available upon reboot. i want to think...
4.0 hmm.. i would but we have several small offices connected to a 406v1 via ip trunks and i dont think the 406v1 can take 4.0. i like to run all the same firmware to avoid issues, so this might not be an option for me.
thanks for the reply.
hold music is currently not playing because we have no holdmusic.wav file loaded. however, i would think that in its absence a ring should be heard instead of dead silence. i guess we have no choice but to use hold music
