Can you place the field on a different layout or change all the OTHER fields to read only except for this one (then allow full access to the layout)?
If so, create a calculation field that refers to the notes field and place that on the layout. This will allow the users to scroll but not edit...
If the valuelist is tied to data being imported, then the valuelist isn't built until the importing is complete, thus the criteria wouldn't be met and the import would fail.

What validation did you change? Since it reported both that it imported the records and that it did not import them, I'ld like to look at this further.
Thanks.

I don't think there is any error control for shell script commands. You may want to look at the Troi File Plug-in. www.troi.com
(I seem to be recommending a lot of software in this group so I'll say that I have no affilation with Troi.)

Hmmm - I can't say I've ever seen this before. I assume there are 147 records in total and not 294?
If there's 294 it could be that you have a duplicated set of records with duplicated unique key fields.
Also, are you sure you matched up all field names and selected the proper import matching...
Shaunaq,
The issue may be the layout part that you placed it in. Be sure it's in the Header, Body or Footer.
It's placement is determined by the upper left corner of the Page Number Symbol object.

I guess I should say that I don't sell WorldSync but it's the only syncronization software for FM

Disclaimer: I don't sell this.
The only tool I know of to do this is Waves In Motion's Analyzer. It's totally invaluable for this.

JBG,
Can you be more specific? Do you put multiple dates in one field for one record? Or in individual records?

Your best bet is to use WorldSync. I think it's about $1500 a node but it allows for realtime syncing.
Other than that, you can write a robot in FM that searches for unposted records and send them from server-to-server via a relationship

)Hi Cradders - I have a VPN pipe open and can't send email so here it is)
Starting from scratch...
1) Make sure your GTRR goes to a layout for the Invoice Detail table.
2) Assure the relationship is based on the Invoice No. (unique)
3) Assure you check the Show Only Related Records checkbox...
Thanks Todd. This gives me some insight.
Any idea of how long it may take me to learn AutoCAD to where I can do this? (I have high school level hand drafting skills and can read basic prints.)
Also, any idea of how to get data into AutoCAD from an external database?
Thanks much! I appreciate...
Oohps! Reviewing my post, I guess I didn't actually say I'll fix the problem.
So just to be clear... Send me the file and I'll fix the problem for you THEN send it right back to you.

Hi folks,
I'm a newbie here and not currently an AutoCAD user.
I'm trying to develop a database that outputs to AutoCAD. Everything in the database will be 3D rectangles. I would like to have something like an ODBC or XML interface, but even some sort of cut-and-paste would be beneficial.
If...
Are you using FM 7?
In pre-7 you need to have multiple fields. 1) The field that contains the actual data from the referenced table, such as Customers::CustAddress. 2) The field that you can type a new address into such as Invoice::CustAddress. 3) a calculation field that is:
Case(
Isempty(...
I'm a newbie here and hope this isn't against the rules. (I just signed up 1 minute ago.)
If you would like to send me the file, I'll get you back into it. No charge. (and no mysterious problems will appear that I'll 'need to charge you for') It'll only take a minute. jeff@deploytech.net
