I was having similar issues a while back. I was never able to resolve them. I ended up having to use share manager to manually delete any leftover sessions, so I just ended up getting a static IP address for my pinter and connecting directly.
See if anything in this discussion thread helps...
in the case of itunes helper.exe and all those that you find you can disable - how do you keep them from just starting up again the next time you boot? I guess look for them under services?
Also, can you recommend a good registry cleaner-upper if as you say, the one that ships with windows is...

I'm fairly certain i've been free of spyware. Rightnow I'm running adaware and a thing called stinger.exe, and they all come up empty. Maybe I should install a third spyware utility?
It could be that I have a lot of software installed, but both the machines I'm...
I'm not trying to rant against microsoft, but I have been ussing windows systems for a long time now, and I 've noticed that when you have a brand new system, it flies along for about 6 months or so, and the longer you keep the system, the more degraded the performance becomes, until it's at the...
mine says its already started, but the install still won't complete. There's no firewall running. what now?

I have a w2k3 test server environment set up in my office. it utiliizes 192.168.0.xxx scope with subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 I have full control over this domain.
It would be helpful if I could somehow connect it to my corporate domain, allowing me to copy files from my corp domain into my...
good idea to keep in mind for the future, though for the logistic of this one, I don't think it'll work
I guess I'm going to have to install a regular version of access somehow.

I'm trying to reconnect load a front to an SQL server application that was previously on another machine. I know I need to get to File>connections to do this, but the machine it's destined for only has access run-time installation at the moment - meaning I can't get to the database window(i...
thanks - another issue. seems that the computer I'm trying to load the front end on only has access run-time installation - meaning I can't get to the database window(i don' think).
Is there anyway around this without having to license another full version of msaccess?
I tried making a copy...
I'm trying to move my database deployment to a new sql server, with a different name in a new windows domain. I was able to successully export and recreate the data store on the server end.
However, I can't figure out where to go to tell my adp file to point toward the new data store on the...
figured it out:
thanks all for posting. I found that I was able to get it to work by the following combo
1. Stopping DHCP services on the Domain2 server
2. Configuring an lmhosts file to point to the Domain1 DNS server and domain name on the client pcs
3. Configuring TCPIP with an explicit...
pardon me for being such a dingbat....i'm going to ask anyway:
"Just make sure that clients in Domain 1 only point to Domain1 DNS Servers and the same for Domain2."
what utility/applet do i use to do that? is that done on the workstation?
"GeminiDaddy I would make sure that your Domain2 DC...
I don't have admin rights to DOMAIN1, only DOMAIN2 - plus it doesn't seem to matter if I use static or DHCP - the problem is the same. I tried it both ways. If I demote it from domain controller to regular file server, then none of my pc's in my test environment will have a place to...
yes, I have DHCP, and no, they aren't called the same thing. The test environment scope is very small, only from 192.168.0.1 thru 192.168.0.20
The other domain uses 10.98.x.x and also is on a different subnet(255.255.255.0, as opposed to 255.255.240.0 for DOMAIN1), so I just can't figure out...
I'm trying to maintain 2 distinct networks, but want to use the same physical cabling. All my users log into DOMAIN1. I have set up DOMAIN2 as a test environment - there are no trusts between the two. My W2K3 Server authenticates its own clients, and is set up as a domain controller for...
i think what he means is that if you're trying to install SQL server2k on a 2003 server, you get an error message right at the beginning of the install saying that w2k3 server will not run SQL server 2000 with anything less than a SP2. It allows you to click thru this error and install it...
