I looked at it again and managed to create the second table and obviously with the column incremented by one each time it is easy to see which RMA number should come next... Thanks heaps for your help Michael!!

Hi,
I am very much a beginner at using Access so excuse me if my question sounds a little silly..
Anyway, I have a subform which has a 'RMA number' (which is like an ID number..) Initially I defined the field as an autonumber but this soon became problematic, as I need to be able to replicate...
You could try pressing Ctrl plus APOSTROPHE (')
That copies the information from the entry in the field above into the highlighted field.. well, it does in Access 97.. I'm not an expert but hope it helps :)
