The host file located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc contains only the entry "127.0.0.1 localhost"
The exact wording of the error message is:
"XXXX is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if...
I do not have a hosts file loaded. This problem occured right out of the box. The error message I am getting refers to the workgroup not being available.
The problem is that Windows will not recognize the other computers in the workgroup. While it can access the internet without a hitch, it can not print to another computer on the network or share files with anyone.
The problem seems to be within Windows...any advice on fixing that or should I...
Hopefully someone out there can be of assistance becuase I am at a loss.
My problem is similar to the one descirbed in "List of servers ... not currently available" from 6/13 (thread950-1075544), but all of the computers ARE on the same subnet with approproate locally DHCP assigned addresses...
