You got it right. No these are not linked to excel , they just have some text in it (numerics). Also i want to link the sub tables with the main table which has sum of sub-tables. The tables are inserted thru Word and file comes from a template. Thanks

i did not explained myself very well. As soon as user click on the cell to enter data , it takes time to show the blinking icon.User has to wait few seconds before making any changes. Though I will really appreciate if i can get some help in linking the tables with the formulas.

nope , i did'nt work. adding the miles does'nt hurt however putting that record as a counter effects the average. Like in my example. Counter is 9 It should be 5 to get more in average.
