Hi All....
Newbie Question...
I have 2 T1 internet circuits from 2 diverse providers. They will both terminate into the same router. The goal is to perform failover. In other words, one of the lines will be on standby. I will be accepting Default routes (no full or partial).
My question...
Hi All,
Current Scenario: In our Maufacturing facility we currently have a Cisco 2620XM with 1 T1 internet circuit.
Goal: We would like to bring in 2 other T1 lines from diverse providers. The plan is to setup a BGP session for failover using default route with the current link that is...
I have just setup an internal Windows 2000 DNS server. All our clients recieve this entry via DHCP.
How should I configure the TCP/IP properties on that server. In other words should it point to itself and then the 2 ip's I have from my ISP. Or should the server just point to the 2 ISP...
Still struggling through the same problem. Actually the 3rd "exchange" is the symantec mail filter product. Mail hits the gateway first. This first point of contact if you will, is the smtp gateway. It is sending messages to the original server via smtp. I tracked one of the messages that I...
Recently started seeing many occurances of warning messages in the system log on my WINNT 4.0 DNS server. It has also seemed to cause some issues in name resolution. At this point Im not sure what to do. Hopefully some one can help.
zbnet thanks for the reply as you have helped me in the past. Maybe I mis phrased the question. By no replication I mean that the server is not clustered in any way. Half of my users are on one exchange and the others on exchange2. I did take the option join an exsisting site and specified...
Sorry...Forgot to mention...
Our Mx record is a server running 5.5 in our DMZ. It also runs Symantec's mail filter product. This mail filter product is set to deliver mail to the original mail server. That is were the problem I believe begins. Once my original internal exchange recieves...
Ok. Here we go.
I have two exchange servers (5.5) under the same site and same NT 4.0 domain model. My second exchange was added not so long ago. Half of my users are on the original exchange server the other half on the newly added one. There is no replication between the two. The set up...
Thanks ZBNET...I take it you suggest to turnoff circular logging in order to replay the log files in future events...I actually ended by setting up another exchange in the same site and started moving mailboxes over to the new server. In the process, I moved half of my mailboxes (the more...
ZBNET thanks again. One final question. when i run the repair I will make sure to have an upto date image of the drive. Do you recommend running the utility in check or fix mode first?
I just started receiving this error on my 5.5 server.
MSExchangeIS (296) Synchronous read page checksum error -1018 ((1:3431997 1:4294967295) (4294967295-4294967295) (0-1065474177)) occurred. Please restore the databases from a previous backup.
It is event ID 116. The Category is Database...
HI All...
I have been tasked with setting up an SMTP relay server for our hong kong office. Their server will reside on the West coast of the United States. Does anybody have recommendations on going about setting this up so that it is secure and reliable. Any products or suggestions will be...
When my users send an email from 123@abc.com to 123@cba.com the emails get through fine to the cba domain. The problem is that there are about 5 specific users who send an email to cba.com and get an undeliverable reply. Why is it that most of my users can send email to cba.com but about 5 can...

AlexIT,
I am in the Northeast and the ping times to the UK are about 120-130ms average. I guess I was wondering if this was acceptble. We have a site to site tunnel to the UK and ping looks as follows 111ms...123ms....126ms...140ms...
To our Hong Kong office the average ping is about 330...
Guys thanks for the feedback. I dont think we would have a problem here in the UnitedStates. For the same reason all pings are under 100ms. But when going over seas to the UK the ping time is 120ms. Provided we stick with the one provider. the problem is this response time to the UK would...
