"q backup" error using a wildcard - help please

Thanks for your response but that still didn't work. No files came back. Could it have to do with trying to use wildcards with filespace names? Is there any way to do this?

    Cannot kill a cdrom process

We're running AIX 5.2 ML2 and it looks like we have a bad cd in the cdrom. I tried killing the running process with kill -9. no help. If I run fuser /cdrom, no pid comes back. I'm just trying to eject the cd. What can I do short of rebooting the node?

0509-026 System error: There is not enough memory available

The programmer is compiling with a gcc complier and doesn't feel we need to change any options. He does have a point, if box machines are running AIX 5.2.0.2 and the same version of gcc, there must be a difference on the system side somewhere. Could there be something else on the server that I...

I checked and the 64 bit application environment was enabled. I was hoping you were on to something. The programmer said that they needed to add the following stmt for this to work on the development node: export LDR_CNTRL=MAXDATA=0x80000000@LARGE_PAGE_DATA=Y They have this defined on this...

How give a user id read access toa directory

I'm trying to give our "operator" id read access to a specific directory so they can view logs. "operator" is not the directory owner and they don't belong to the "intface" group Directory: drwxrws--- 2 oracle intface 512 Apr 13 09:09 testdir Log files: -rwxrwx--- 1 oracle intface 605...

LED Codes on a 7133 D40 SSA Drawer

I was told that you can use the 4 digit LED panel on the front of the drawer to help identify the drawer and give it your own name (SSA1, SSA2,...). I could not find how to do that anywhere. Anyone know how to do this or is it some type of status indicator and I just got some bad info. Thanks...

Errors deleting hdisk from old SSA Disks

We have an old test node running 4.3.3 and we want to use it for testing. Problem is we've physically removed all the ssa disks about 8 months ago and I'd like to do some cleanup. There are old vg's out there, old hdisks, etc. When I try to delete an old volume group, I get: 0516-010 lqueryvg...
