I have just logged into my AIX 4.3 box and upon successful login and su to root I was presented with the words "Open Account."
This was displayed right after it processed the password and just prior to the prompt being displayed. Actually right where the .plan would show it's...
Ok. I have two linux 7.3 RH boxes.
Both are on an internal network protected by a firewall.
Both have the exact same route table.

Yegolev-
I just tried you chfs idea and it worked wonderfully. :)
Prior to my changes a df -tk showed %100 percent full on
/my/directory it was around 2.1 gig.
I used wsmstorage to add 2.0 gig to that filesystem [lv02]
Nothing ever happened and after remounting after the "add" my...
Heya all.
Quick question. I have roughly 36 gigs free space and using wsmstorage I placed 2000MB each to two different lvs I had. I unmounted both directories prior to the update/add of data and I remounted them both after I successfully added the space.
Both are still showing full via df -tk...
Yes I did stop the subsystem but it didn't solve the problem of logging in. Since I stopped telent I took a risk that i could console log in.
I couldn't
Ok here it is:
Out of the blue [isn't it always]
Users could no longer login to the machine via telnet. When I heard of the problem I could not log onto the machine via console.
We have 64 licenses and there are never more than 30 users on at a time. This time there were only 11 users. No one...
Ok now get this...
I moved /usr/bin/ftp to /tmp/ftp.server.broken
and on a whim tried it...and it worked.
SO now all the above still counts..but the program will only run outside of /usr/bin

Chapter 11
Correct. Though I was facing two issues with mksysb.
1. No user other than root could run it...
2. The tape backup they had were "not readable." Meaning even as root I was unable to use mksysb at the time.
Thank you all for your input...
Go see my ftp question now =]...
Ok AIXers, in keeping with a promise to only post creative issues for discussion I have an odd ftp problem.

Ok fellas...
I used a 4.3.3 CD and got to Maint and re-did my root passwd entry. It was all rather painless as I restored a tar I made the day before of /etc.
I appreciate the input and I find this board to be a very useful tool =]
Now go check my ftp question..heheh
I was recently placed in charge of 2 AIX servers. The one in question had an odd occurrence happen.
I wanted to remove/inactivate user accounts on a 4.3.2 F50 AIX system.
I grabbed a list of user names and cat them to a file. /home/userlist
I REMOVED the user names from my newly created file...
