do you have the ok prompt. if yes a good guy have disable the boot parameters in eeprom..borrow a bootable harddisk with the same system and boot the device and login as root. Check eeprom command

You can still burn a personal copy of Solaris 8 using nero.
Create the cd image files first and then burn to your new CD. (Most of the time Diect cd copy wont work.)
you can ssh securecopy rather than nfs since mounting nfs outside need some UDP port to be open. If you still want to do it this way ..Mount the NFS disk using a NFS cache on your outside server. You need to open some UDP ports to do this and close the UDP ports after you have mount it. Good luck
