I was requested to design an app which either cannot be closed by the task manager's 'end process', or does not appear in the task manager. -althought i would like to use the kill command on it if needed. anyone have any examples/hints on going about to do this? thanks, :-)

i did try reinstalling the chipset drivers from the HP site. although i should see who the manufacterer for the MB is and install the latest. well if that doesn't work, i think i'll go with your 2nd suggestion and install a sound card. thanks for you reply ski.

I'm encountering a problem while re-installing WinXP on an hp pavilion a1106n. There's no audio device found?! i did all of the patches/updates and installed the drivers on the hp site, but still no audio device. I also went to the Realtek site and got those drivers, but again...nothing. has...

As a test, i'm trying to DR one of our servers. windows 2000 advance SP3 with 2 partitions arcserve 2000 workgroup SP5 with DR option and SQL agent. I do a full backup to tape. create the boot diskettes. and start recovering on a similar server (hardware is the same except there's bigger drives)...
