That's the way they installed themselves.
The whole point was to force WinPOET to run last, so Zone Alarm had higher priority.
I've discovered that anything started up prior to Zone Alarm (imho) appears to not be monitored by Zone Alarm, and I'm trying to toughen up security on...

The problem is: corrupted stuff.
When you installed Mandrake, did you partition the entire hard drive ??
You shouldn't have.
If you were planning to dual boot, you should have only partitioned the part of the drive for the install, and left the rest of the hard drive...

Actually, you can't get true RAID function that way, but you can emulate RAID 0 (limited by the one SATA drive).
You're mixing apples and oranges, and Linux has problems with that.
Set it up with one or the other, I suggest the IDE - and get a Raid Control Program installed...

It's not able to detect something - most likely, your hard drive, or your video card.
Check your cables, make sure they're plugged in all the way.
Do you have another OS still on the system ??
You might want to format the HDs before you install Linux, especially if you had...

NO.
Here's a slightly longer answer:
For now.
Here's what to do:
Dont ever download and open an Email on your system. Get a Yahoo account and use that to read your Email.
As for security:
Goto your Control Center, click on...

First off, goto www.grc.com and run a stealth test.
About half the way down the opening page, you'll find the ShieldsUp! link - click on it, and follow the instructions, which will bring you to the third page.
you'll see some options to choose what ports you want scanned, choose...

Hit return.
On the next start-up, don't fill in anything.

No - they start-up as the system boots into the first screen
As they do, they show up in the start bar (on the right, by the clock), then bit defender runs.

I remember quite a bit, having used windows for so long, I just can't remember where to set my start-up...

Hi everyone, I'm the new kid on the block:
I recently ran into a problem w/Verizon.
I was a Windows user since 3.1, and eventually migrated to Nix (around the Red Hat 6.0 release) and have been using that ever since - until this problem, that is....
