One would hope so. But I find myself here instead. Now after a very frustrating hour at support.microsoft.com I find myself envious of another computer platform.
I first used the the default settings. Since, I have tried each of the options under the Advanced tab of the Properties for the printer.
There is no change regardless of the settings that I choose. Sadly. Any suggestions?

XP pro. Norton Systemworks 2k1. (Installed for anti virus.) Speed disk has taken over ms defrag. Even though on the install it said there were known problems running under xp pro. I'd like to re-associate defrag with the 'defragment now button'.
Ideas?

However, there is a slight change. Now I can't ping the Xp machine (by name or ip address) from the 98 machine.
I can still view the Xp's shared folders from 98. I can also change file names on the Xp machine from...
i have 2 machines: Xp Pro and 98se
static ip's (192.168.1.10 and 192.168.1.11)(tried others as well)
subnet 255.255.255.0 on both machines
tcp/ip installed on both pc's
Workgroup 'name'is the same on both pc's Each machine has its own 'computer' name
