    This may be a firmware glich - see below This is a problem with the firmware: it does not take changes from the graphical console. Workaround: Do a debug install and check the output of bootinfo -c to see if the sms is sending the wrong subnetmask. In one case, sms was passing 255.255.255.0...

    I did a install of the bos.adt fileset this morning on a 7043-140 using AIX 5.1, no re-boot required. If a re-boot is required the installp messages in smit will tell you that a reboot is required to make the changes fully active. Chris Martin

    Hi, AIX 5.3 is not out yet, AIX 5.2 has just been released.
