I have the same issue. It would be great to read the .db file, and if I can do it with a hexeditor, that would be great, but I have never used a hexeditor, and do not know what may already be installed on my system. Using sendmail on a customized RH Linux 5.1 system.
We seem to have found the basic problem, being with our BDC. Apparently it is not replicating properly. When the BDC is offline, the users can login just fine. What we don't know how to do is make it replicate properly.

Strange, strange problem. Whenever I create a new user, and they try to login, the system will tell them that the username cannot be found. I noticed this only a couple of weeks ago. What makes this strange is that people whose user accounts have been in existance for a while do not have any...
Just to make sure - I now have the User's delivery restrictions set to Accept from List our internal network, and in the Internet Mail Service delivery restrictions I have set to Reject from List the user I want to block. All ok? Thanks!

I'm rather new in the world of networking acronyms, so please be patient with me. IMC = Internet Mail Service? under Configuration, or do I look for the delivery restrictions under the user object. I have the user's delivery restrictions set to accept mail only from our local network. If I...
I need to block access to internet email for several users, and am needing some help to know exactly what to do. I know that in the Exchange administrator I can set the user account to accept messages only from our internal domain, but I want to disallow them access to send email outside as...
We will be installing GW6 sometime in the near future, and I would like to use it to totally replace our Linux-based Sendmail/Imapd server. Is there any good way to:
1 - do this without losing all existing mail?
2 - have a transition period with both servers in place?
Thanks!

We did not install any new router or firewall to the network. One thing we have found, though. Our server has three dns servers listed in the resolv.conf file. Two are our own local dns servers. The third is an external one by our ISP that will be gone in December. When we have the external...
We are running Sendmail 8.10 with Cyrus IMAP on Linux. Yesterday, our mail started taking a long time before being recived by recipients (either internal or external). When we attempt to send mail though a mail program(netscape, outlook), the program sits on the Sending Message progress meter...
I'll try some of the things you mentioned. I'm using a Western Digital drive. Maybe some of the logic on the disks with UDMA not agreeing with Netware?
We are running a HIGHLY customized version of RedHat 5.1. We started with that version, and had a Linux guy compile from source all the upgrades, so I don't think there will be any binary upgrades available :-( Our Linux guy left a little over a year ago without leaving any documentation on...
That would probably work, but how do I install it to make sure the older versions don't cross with the new ones? I only have surface knowledge of Linux, so also how could I install the new "server" on a different port?

I just started working at a local college, and one of my projects is to upgrade the server to latest versions for security (We are waaaaaayyyy behind). We are running a Linux server with Apache 1.3.19, with OpenSSL, modssl, PHP, and FP extensions, and using MySQL. This is a production server...
We are running Senmail 8.10 on Linux. When we try to send mail to a particular domain, we get a return message saying:
----- The following addresses had transient non-fatal errors -----

I'm looking to replace some linux boxes w/BSD, but can't really find a good comparison among the different types. What are the pros and cons, strengths and weaknesses to each variation?
Thanks!

I'm installing NW6 on a test machine. Machine is an Athlon 1.2Ghz, 512MB RAM, 40 Gig IDE drive, Asus A7V-E motherboard. I go through the intall process, and when it is ready to create the SYS partition, I get a message "MM_CreatePartition failed with code17. (nwconfig-6-653)" What's...
