    DNS does not work but straight IP does

    Try with entering a static DNS adress (DNS Server at the ISP) in the tcp/ip properties of your nic.

    Try with cleaning the cache of the dns by using the command: ipconfig /flushdns and then ipconfig /registerdns to get new info into the cache.
