    Heating for Rack in Warehouse

You could consider one of the portable heater/air conditioning units. They run about $500, and can keep the temperature with the specified ranges, plus most will also dehumidify. Installation usually requires some sort of venting through a 3 inch flexible hose, similar to a clothes dryer and...

Replacing bad drive in RAID 5

I ended up finding a 15k and plugged it in. Every thing is fine. I knew in theory it should all work, but in 11 years I never had a drive go bad in any of my RAID arrays. So the theory vs real life, made me want a second or third opinion. Thanks, John

Replacing bad drive in RAID 5

Thank you, I thought so. I discovered the bigger drives 10k and the existing 18s are 15k. Will the speed difference matter even for temporary use? John

Replacing bad drive in RAID 5

I have a ML 370 with a bad drive in a RAID 5 array. The drive is an 18 gig SCSI Ultra 320. I don't have any spare 18s, but have a used 36 gig SCSI Ultra 320. Can I hot swap in the 36 to replace the 18 that failed? Does it matter they are different sizes and the 36 was from a different server...

Changing A/R balance method from O to B

It's a really mixed. Some pay the balance in full every month other pay by the invoice and only with an invoice. I checked with the person who prints the statements and they have been printing using a date range and not checking the "print open items only" check box, so there would be detail...

Changing A/R balance method from O to B

This is the customer service departments idea to simplify the statements. They seem to think that a basic, here are your charges and here is your payment, is better than seeing each invoice and payment. Apparently this proposed change is a result of a survey of our customers. I am not so sure...

Changing A/R balance method from O to B

Our company would like to change the A/R balance method from O-open item to B-balance forward. Is this as simple as changing the customer records from O to B? What happens to existing invoices and credits, do we need to do manual reapply to clean up the accounts? Thanks, John

    Cable labelling

I have been using the RhinoPro for about a year. It is primarily used on-site, for new wire pulls, patch panels and replacing old hand numbered labels. I use the 3/4 white and yellow nylon labels wiring. It has some nice feature for the price.

    Phaser 780 "Black Toner Missing"

We had the same problem with a 780. I believe the problem was a result of transporting the printer with the toner cartridges installed. Most likely the vibration during the move, or other handling shook some toner on to a sensor and prevented it from sensing the installed cartridge. A good...
