With workstation, you're really just going to have to rely on your OS security model. Make sure no one but you have even "read" permissions on the Virtual Machine folder.
Pardon my lack of knowledge, but the implementers of our libraries are long gone.
We've got an L700 at our DR site. There's an Ethernet cable plugged into it. In the LCD panel, I can see that it's configured for a static IP address that looks to be valid on our network. However, I cannot...
Thank you lespaul!
Crowley, it doesn't show duplicate fields. However, I had to remove the "order by" clause, it was saying that "Admin" isn't a selected field. Without the "order by" clause, it is already sorted, however. Shrug.
Thanks again, I wasn't familiar with the Union statement.
Example of table named "Servers":
ServerName Admin1 Admin2
---------- ------ ------
SERVER1 Mike Joe
SERVER2 John Kevin
SERVER3 Mike John
SERVER4 Joe Stacy
I'd like to query for all (distinct) Admins. The results would look...
I found this thread because I was trying to image a DL380G2 using Altiris and was getting horrid speeds (5mb/min). No matter what I did:
Intel Universal NIC
q57 driver
q57 driver w/hardcoded linkspeed & duplex
...it was incredibly slow. Finally I changed the port on the swith to auto/auto...
Thank you comtec17, for posting your experience. I won't even try using OTM like that; We're going to go down the road of replicating to another server and stopping that server at backup time.
Thanks again.
Jesse
Is it possible to safely back up a Lotus Notes database server using OTM? Anyone have experience doing this? If a .nsf file was in use during the backup, would the version on tape be corrupt?
Thanks,
Jesse
Sticky, you understand exactly.
I'm really just starting to develop our new system. I guess I was under the impression that since this was a modifyable setting in the old BackupExec, I was looking for a similar setting in NetBackup.
I ran an experiment, and you are perfectly right. Thank you...
You're right, I worded that pretty poorly.
Hypothetical situation:
All we've got is one class that backs up one server, 30GB for a full backup daily. We're using hcart tapes, 200GB capactiy.
We would like to have Monday->Friday's jobs all on one tape, AKA "append" each daily job...
Company is moving from an old version of Backup Exec to Netbackup 3.4.1
Quite often we have situations where it will be useful to put more than one job (or class) on the same tape. I'm quite a newbie to the new software, but after extensive searching I can't for the life of me figure this out...
