We're up to RAID8 now. As to a 10K IDE drive, never heard of it. Checked Ingram Micro, the international hardware jobber that supplies your local superstores, and they haven't heard of it. Can't find one at Maxtor or WD. Where is this mysterious 10K IDE drive?
Always use drivers supplied by your motherboard manufacturer, never "generic" drivers from the chipset manufacturer. The motherboard manufacturer may have made modifications for your specific board.

If you have Win98, you can go to start/run and enter drwatson and doc will pop up and give you a detailed explaination of what cause the fault. It's probably one single program running in the background that is causing problems with the 10 you know of.
