FP3/5 Upgrade on Sun Solaris
We went from MP4, back to FP3, then up to FP5. We still have about a dozen media servers running at MP4, with the master at FP5, and no apparent problems. One thing caused some pain during the upgrade process. It didn't auto-detect any of our fibre attached STK 9840 and 9940 tape drives. So it...- Deano71

UNIX VS Windows
This is in response to sysadmin666 Our Solaris boxes were always slower at the tape I/O than HPUX. Until recently when we upgraded some of the Sun servers (to V1280's I think), and now they are faster than HPUX. On the V1280's we get 60 MB/sec to a single STK 9940B tape drive. Which Level of NBU DC 4.5 Is Stable?
Charles, I have no experience with Vault so don't know if this applies. We run manually scripted bpduplicates. If your backups are multi-plexed, make sure you use the -mpx parameter in your duplicate command. (assuming you don't mind you duplicates being mpx'ed).- Deano71
