Best vid driver for older GeForce 2 card & Win98SE?

Well, so far so good. I did a clean install, followed by DX9 and 53.04. None of the anomolies I saw before. After installing an NIC and doing the Windows Update I did a ghost of the drive to another HD and all seems well. Thanks for your guidance. Jeff

Best vid driver for older GeForce 2 card & Win98SE?

Martin, you're correct in that I'm referring to a GeForce 2 card, specifically an MX400. I'm getting mixed signals as to which driver version I should install. I've also gotten replies in other forums, some which say DX8, some DX9. Jeff

    Ghost 32 for Windows XP

AFAIK Ghost is no longer a free download. At one time there was an evalaution copy available, but I don't think that's the case today. Having said that, there are many inexpensive sources of Ghost, via Norton SystemWorks Pro. A PriceWatch search on "Norton SystemWorks 2003...

    do p4 mobos normally bulge?

I haven't heard much of any discussion re this subject for some time, but early on in the release of the P4 there was quite a bit of discussion re the supplied Intel HSF bowing the motherboard upon installation. Most of the major mobo mfgr's indicated this was normal, as did Intel. I for one...

Need help picking a CD - RW

GCE, for the money the LiteOn series can't be beat. You get a solid drive, host of features, and Nero software. I recently replaced a Yamaha 24x10x40 drive w/ a LiteOn 48x24/48 drive and haven't looked back <g>. Check out the LiteOn 48x24x48 CDRW Model LTR-48246S Retail unit at...

98 system set up problem after DMA setting on IDE

AlexmacG, did you attempt to set DMA for all three drives at once (hd, cd-rom, cd-rw)? If so, once you get back to a good state, do the process again, except this time only set DMA for the hd, go through the reboot process as requested, then set DMA for the cd-rom, reboot, and then set DMA for...

How to take registry backup ? and restore it ?

cyberdyne, Win98 by default backs up your registry each time you start (I believe the number of backups is five, someone correct me if I'm wrong, please) via a program called scanregw. But, there's a simple two-step process you can do before you make any changes to your system, either hardware...
