Pack and Rebuild failing on Syslogs (error 37:3)

Recently, whenever I try to run a pack and rebuild on GM 5.5/Dbase that includes the log files I get the following error; Low disk space Batch move x:\gmbase\syslog x:\gmbase\xyslog BDE error cat. code 37:3 Now I know I have more than enough disk space, but this has only started to happen in...

OWA 2000: Access Denied (external only)

Have you had any joy sorting this? I've got exactly the same problem and the annoying thing is that it used to work, but has decided to stop working for some reason. I've gone through the entire config of Exchange 2k and our Firewall and found nothing!

    Odd EFS encryption problems

I've recently taken over a Win2k domain and I'm having a problem with several laptop users, who use EFS to encrypt areas of their disks. Despite following all the Technet guidelines after their certificates expired, I cannot get it to work with new certificates so they're having to decrypt...

    Dial up proxy settings

OK that has confirmed something else for me....those settings are actually greyed out - I'm thinking that, that is most probably a group policy setting. Any idea which reg keys can be used to "manually" enter the proxy server, proxy overrride and proxy enable keys? Thanks Jim

    Dial up proxy settings

I've got a config problem with a couple of Dell laptops. They can access the net fine when on our LAN, but when dialled up they seem to forget or ignore the proxy settings. They dial up directly to our modems on a RAS box and not via an ISP. They can access mail fine etc, but once in IE they...

    Compression ratios

I'm using a Compaq SSL2020 which offers 2:1 hardware compression and I've got BENT 8.5 for Win2000 setup to use this hardware compression. However, do I just assume that I'm getting 2:1 compression on my backups or is there a way of actually checking this? Thanks in advance. Jim

    VPN and Win2k

We're trying to setup VPN, using Win2k to do all the hard work (authentication etc), and just passing the relevant protocols through the PIX without using any of it's VPN capabilities. Now I've set it up so that GRE and PPTP have access both inbound and outbound from our VPN server. However...

FTP box in DMZ in PIX-515

Yizhar, Not a bad little program - especially as I can't get hold of PIX Device Manager. I'm using PIX v6.1 at the moment. Just to refresh on the problem, I cannot access my ftp box from outside and I also cannot get smtp traffic to the inside from the outside. I think I may have screwed up...

FTP box in DMZ in PIX-515

I've got a machine I want to use as an FTP server sat in our DMZ. From the FTP box in the DMZ I can ping the gateway and the inside of the router as well as telnet etc. However letting people into the DMZ seems to be the problem. I'm using NAT in the DMZ, I've assigned the FTP box's IP...

    SSL & Access lists

No they are definitely redirects from port 80 - 443. However, I don't think the problem is SSL related now. I've been getting a lot of the same errors with just a standard ftp download. According to Cisco the error (106015) is caused as there is no association to the incoming packet in the...

    SSL & Access lists

When you use access lists and you access a website with SSL encryption, is an entry for port 443 in the outbound access list sufficient? How does the process work for connecting to an SSL site? I only ask as I get a variety of odd syslog messages when I access a URL with SSL. Generally the...

    Telnet timeout on a 3640 (IOS 12.1)

I'm setting up a 3640 router using IOS 12.1 - both of which I am new to. When connecting to it through Hyper Terminal I can configure to my hearts content - when I try to telnet the connection gets dropped after about 5 mins. I've gone through the config as it is and the command reference and...

VPN port 47 through the PIX

I'm currently testing VPN and I am getting the same error message each time I attempt a connection..... Win2k is dealing with authentication, port 1723 builds a tunnel, but when 47 attempts to tunnel through I get the error; 106023: Deny protocol 47 src outside:192.150.50.1 dst...

    Limits of using Conduits

I'm using PIX 6.0 and I have the following conduit setup; conduit permit tcp host xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx eq smtp any Now is this going to let absolutely anyone use it to pass smtp through the conduit or can I restrict it so smtp traffic can only come from one source (IP address)? Or am I completely...

    outbound protocols on PIX-515

I'm very new to Cisco kit and I need some clarification on how to allow outbound traffic on set protocols to pass through the firewall. As I understand it, you set up an access list with a set range of ip addresses, you then use the outbound command to specify the protocol, then you use the...
