Since writing my previous message I have received a reply from Elfring Fonts. Inc. together with a link to their Demo programme. This works in a much better way than the Wasp one and I've so far printed a 'scanable' barcode of an actual CD which works just fine and is readable. This demo also...
Hi again:
Ok, I've had limited success with your suggested testing. I downloaded WASP and despite it's protestations was eventually able to enter/copy/paste a readable barcode. I then pasted this into a 'dummy' report, printed the report and lo and behold it scans and if I enter a dummy product...
Yep! All stored UPC numbers are 12 digit. These correspond to the barcode numbers on the back of 99.999% of CDs. We use these in-store to scan at the check-out and when ordering or receiving CDs. Scanning the item places the 12 digit upc code into the relevant field in various tables. In this...
Thank you for your prompt and comprehensive reply. However this really doesn't solve anything for us. We are familiar with most of what you suggest and infact use barcode scanning on a daily basis. We have both keyboard wedge and USB scanners installed but we are still at a loss as to how to...
Thanks for the replies guys. Sorry for the delay, was sidetracked by another challenge.
Here's the precise scoop. We already print invoices with a UPC number on them using a standard FPW2.6 Report form. These numbers are extracted from a field in a table. All we want to do is to print these...
We have a small LAN in retail store in Quebec. Server is running XP Professional, workstations all running XP Home. Application is FPW2.6 and has been running perfectly elsewhere for many years.
Problem, the Quebec installation has Server and two Workstations running XP English, third...
Thanks for the reply. I have solved the problem by COPY TO..delimited and now all 68,000 records are copied, I am sending this to a third party who does not have FPW and wants to do some data checking. He is happy with the new .txt file.
I remember now that the "old" Excel only allows 16k rows...
I am trying to copy a dbf of 64,000 records to an Excel spreadsheet. It only copies the first 16,000+ records. Is this a limit of Foxprow 2.6, Excel or the COPY TO function?
Is there a way round it?

My thanks to all of you that replied to my plea for assistance. I'm pleased to say that the problem is solved and working perfectly.

Hmmm!!!
Having added an image control to my form I cannot see how or where you might add line of code that Chris Chamberlain suggested viz THISFORM.Image1.Picture=ALLT(MYTABLE.filename)
The Picture property expects only a line of text or name of a graphic file. since this name changes each time...
Many thanks to ChrisR and MikeG, that's exactly what I was looking for.
MikeL: It's suprising what 3 months away from one's clients in our seaside flat (Worthing SX) can do for one's concentration. Yes of course its work but no pressure!!! Makes all the difference.
Regards from Sunny Worthing...
I'm sure its easy to do but I cant find the correct combination. We are working on a fairly large table of music on CD information which needs to be modified to include images of the cover art. We can obatin these images in .jpg format but ae uncertain how to link them to each record. Should we...
Yep...Did all that and still get same GPF. I wonder if processor speed is connected?? I'm running an Athlone 2100(1.7Ghz) what about you? also are you using XP Pro or Home? I have Pro 5.1 (Build 2600).
Haven't tried it on my 2000 box yet, which is P3 650, but will probably do it over next 24...
Sorry Ken: That doesn't work either. It seems that XP has an inherent dislike of "???". I note from the xp printing thread that you use a serial port BUT we are using a parallel port is this significant? And if so how do you suggest we change it??

Hi Rick:
The driver is a Generic/Text Only on LPT1
Crashes on the "???" line which if changed to "??" does NOT crash BUT doesn't do anything either.

We have a POS application which triggers a cash drawer using the code
SET CONSOLE OFF
SET DEVICE TO PRINT
SET PRINTER TO
??? CHR(27)+CHR(112)+"0,48"
This works fine in 95/98 but crashes in 2K and XP with a GPF 0001:222D. We have tried using only "??" but this does nothing...
Rick:
Now for something really WEIRD!! I have one fairly old FPW2.6 app which has a compiled/context sensitive Help file incorporated. This Help file was developed using Word (not sure which version probably 97) and compiled under Help author 4.03. IT WORKS PERFECTLY !! Even the context...
Nah!!! It's already there in the Windows folder, along with WINHELP32.exe. Problem is FPW IS using winhelp.exe and NOT winhelp32.exe. I need a way to persuade the runtime (I guess) to use the 32 bit file under XP and 2K
Thanks anyway

I have several FPW 2.6 apps compiled and running under Foxw2600.esl perfectly in win95,win98,win2k-pro and XP-Pro. However the included and context sensitive .hlp files which have been compiled using an .hpj and winhelp 4.03 work fine until we get to 2k and XP. Here they refuse to work within...
