I had a similar problem with my user account. Because I manage four different Domains I didn’t join any of them. I found that my account was being disabled every day … by my laptop. It turns out that it was Norton AntiVirus Live update trying to do its thing.

It’s time to ‘bite the bullet’ and get rid of the ‘everyone’ group. I had the same problem at one of our sites. I created a ‘User’ group and added it to the required folders to allow access while removing the “Everyone” group. You can then create a VPN group and restrict their access.
